Relentlessly attacking him. As Cooper himself hinted, that stretch of Bryant battling in the post with rising intensity became a knockout punch. "Kobe was just posting up and taking that turnaround jump shot that he still makes all the time to this day, hitting that fadeaway from 16-17 feet," Ridder said. "He must've hit 10 or 12 of them in a row at one point. It was breathtaking to watch a kid do that. He had no regard for this being Michael Cooper." Black and Ridder are in the business of site postgame quotes, and they remember vividly what West said when he called off the one-on-one game: "OK, I've seen enough." West's summation was plain: "Best workout I've ever seen. He's better than anybody we have on the team right now. Let's Max Workout free download go." The Lakers had gone 53-29 the previous season behind Cedric Ceballos, Nick Van Exel, Elden Campbell, Vlade Divac and Eddie Jones. max workouts by Shin Ohtake free download Boston Red Sox awaiting decision of Cuban defector Rusney Castillo - ESPN Boston

Throw gifted defender Jackie Bradley Jr . and apprentice outfielder Mookie Betts into the mix, along with hot-hitting holdover Daniel Nava , and even without the addition of Castillo the Sox will have some decisions to make. And having so many outfielders on the roster will only fuel speculation that the Red Sox will mount a huge effort this winter to trade for Miami outfielder Giancarlo Stanton , the gifted slugger whom the Marlins so far have been unwilling to deal but whose position could change this winter if it becomes apparent they will not sign him to a long-term deal. The Red Sox, with a farm system teeming with prospects as well as big league outfielders under their control, could assemble a cost-controlled package that not only would help Miami's immediate void in the outfield if it dealt Stanton, but would also be able to entice the Marlins with either pitching or positional prospects. But even taking Stanton out of a future equation, the Red Sox view Castillo as a player who could make an immediate impact.
Source:

has already said they will be sellers at the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline, and closer Jonathan Papelbon has said he will waive his no-trade clause to go to a contender. Second baseman Chase Utley and shortstop Jimmy Rollins , Phillies their entire careers, are more reluctant to leave, and can veto any deal that is not to their liking. Left-hander Cliff Lee is another player who would appear to be attractive to a contender, though he has been on the disabled list since May 19 with a strained elbow. The 35-year-old Lee will make another rehab start July 14, and is scheduled to start against San Francisco on July 21. Depending upon how healthy and effective he is, it looms as one of his last appearances for the Phillies, and others seem certain to follow him out the door.
Source:

Each Bears player was introduced to the fans filling the stadium, with each receiving a loud ovation. The only exception was Jared Allen, the former division rival who made his first appearance in Soldier Field wearing blue and orange. The Bears new defensive end was greeted to a chorus of boos. Dave D'Onfrio's Patriots Notebook: Which 53 will comprise final roster? | New Hampshire Sports

He and fellow end Zach Moore should complete the group. Linebackers - 6 With Brandon Spikes in Buffalo, the starters are relatively cut-and-dry: Jerod Mayo, Dont'a Hightower and Jamie Collins will get the bulk of the snaps, with newly acquired James Anderson slotting in situationally. Beyond that, linebacker is a spot where the Pats will likely emphasize kick coverage roles, and both Chris White and Steve Beauharnais capably filled special teams roles in 2013. Cornerbacks - 4 + 1 Things could get more complicated when Brandon Browner returns from a four-game drug suspension, since he doesn't initially count against the roster's 53-man limit - but even when he returns, the Pats are likely to make room for him by trimming elsewhere.
Source:

Vikings Training Camp: Mike Zimmer Has Big Decisions To Make - T

SHORING UP THE 'D' In 2013, no team allowed more points per game (30) than the Vikings, who also ranked near the bottom in yards allowed (398) and penalty yards (1,003 total). The defense was a hot mess of mismatches and dysfunction under defensive coordinator Alan Williams, who was openly criticized by his own players. New coordinator George Edwards is expected to deploy a more disciplined and aggressive unit that is banking on defensive ends Brian Robison and Everson Griffen to anchor a front four that lost veterans Jared Allen and Kevin Williams. The linebacker corps features stiff competition among incumbents Chad Greenway, Audie Cole, Gerald Hodges, Michael Mauti and returner Jasper Brinkley, who spent last season in Phoenix. Who'll catch the ball? OK, it's true that for at least a short while, Brady had two of the best wide receivers in the solar system (Randy Moss and Wes Welker). He won a slew of games with them and set all sorts of records, but they didn't raise an "18-1" banner at Gillette Stadium to celebrate a 2007 season in which the Patriots won every game except the most important one. Perhaps someday, we'll all sit back and wonder why Belichick didn't make a more concerted effort over a 15-year period to give one of the best quarterbacks in the game some of the best receivers available to complement his talents. In the meantime, Brady must be content with a receiving corps consisting of an extremely talented (and extremely breakable) tight end, a lot of slot receivers and a few guys that might be able to do interesting things out of the backfield.
Source:
